Friend's Pages
- Cami - My roommate, and one
of my best friends. Technically she is the second roommate that I've had that
I met on the Internet, even though I met her years before the first
roommate that I met on the Internet. Her page is popular and she has a cool
journal that people who stalk her like to read
- Jeff - Former resident of twentysix.net.
We thought he was gay but he's not. With nearly tragic results.
- Jenny - Before I knew her, I hated
her so much I made a big deal about it in my journal. Now we hang out. Weird!
- Wizzy - Andy Devendorf
is a guy I met through the riceboypage message board. He is also a freelance
web designer in the San Diego area.
- Jesse - I met him through Cami. His
website is www.turkeydinner.net, and he seems to redesign it quite often.
- Cyn - I have never met her in person,
but she also has a cool web journal and writes to me sometimes. And sometimes
I write back.
Useful Stuff
- Trillian - Trillian is a great third
party client -- one program connects you to AIM, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, MSN
Messenger, and even IRC. Way way better than running 3 or 4 programs!
- San Diego Weather
- This is CNN's weather report for San Diego
- Surfrider Foundation -
Their daily surf report for San Diego and Orange Counties, complete with picture!
- San Diego's Ocean - A Scripps
Institution of Oceanography list of links with a bunch of interesting stuff
including the two above surf links and a SIO Pier live snapshot
- Moviefone - I use this to find out
what movies are playing at what theaters at what times. It is extremely useful,
very detailed and faster than trying to call or find a newspaper.
- Harmony Central:
Guitar: Tablature - A great source for guitar tab for you guitar players
out there
- The Sting
Guitar Tabs Page - a whole lot of guitar tablature of Sting songs.
Useless Stuff
- Yahoo Classifieds:
Personals - Looking for love in all the wrong places? Well here's another
one...
- Asian Avenue
- By Community Connect. A place for a bunch of Asian people to hang out, chat,
play games and other stuff. Gets kinda boring after a while but I still play
the trivia games and chat once in a while.
- Bejeweled - A game on the MSN
network that was first introduced to me by Jenny. Now every time I play it
I think of her.
Fun Stuff
- The Brunching Shuttlecocks -
"Humor with a 'Runch'", this page has a lot of fun stuff on it. Jessica
showed it to me.
- Joelogon's Foolproof Guide to Making Any
Woman Your Platonic Friend - Guys! Ever hear "I just want to be friends"? This funny site is
definitely for you!
- Personality Test - This is
one of the coolest personality tests around. All you do is pick one picture out of nine and it tells
you stuff about yourself. This server gets bogged down a lot so you might have to try a few times to
get in
- Ye Olde English
Sayings - The origins of many sayings and expressions. Fun to read if
you are bored.
- Trendy Interactive Magic -
This page has some really freaky tricks and I have no idea how they work! The "Mysterious Rabbit" is
particularly perplexing... you should definitely check this out!
Other Bryan Creations
Theatre Links
- Playbill On-Line - They claim to
be "THE Theatre Source on the Web for Broadway Theater Information". They
also have some major regional theatre information.
- La Jolla Playhouse - The
1993 Outstanding Regional Theatre Tony Award winning group that shares its
facilities with UCSD.
- Sledgehammer Theatre - This
is the best small "experimental" theatre group in San Diego and one of the
best in the country. They play in an old converted funeral home. It's cool.
I ASMed a show for them once.
- UCSD Department of Theatre and
Dance - Ranked #3 nationally! The San Diego Union Tribune has said that
"the UCSD Department of Theatre has proven itself a strikingly
vital force in this county's cultural life...'mere' university status be
damned."
Movie and DVD Links
- The Digital Bits - News and
information on upcoming DVDs and DVD-related technology.
- DVD Planet - If these guys don't
have it, it doesn't exist on DVD.
- American WideScreen Museum
- An online museum about the history of different widescreen film formats
that have been used in America, including detailed specifications. Quite a
lot of information and content if it's the sort of thing that interests you.
Aggresive Inline Links
- Sequence Magazine - An e-zine
that doesn't get updated that often any more but it's really good. Run by
Lawrence, buddy of mine who I met through Mimi.
- Scum Magazine - Another
e-zine, updated more regularly than Sequence.
- Fifty-50 - Lawrence works for
them. And does their website. It is cool, and so is their stuff. Every
little kid in the country's parents are paying for this stuff.
Places
- Cheapovegas.com - Vegas is many
things to many people. If Vegas is Sin City then Gluttony is my sin. The prime
rib and libations flow like it's the land of milk and honey. Can't go wrong
with that! Cheapovegas has the most comprehensive Vegas hotel guide I've ever
seen, with all the information that really matters like how cool the
pool is and what kind of stuff you get in the bathrooms, with some biting
sarcasm to boot. And they even have a good guide on how to get the cheapest
rates you can.
- Las Vegas Strip History - This
website isn't the best looking or best organized, but its content is priceless.
It's a collection of the history of all of the properties on the Vegas Strip.
I've even contributed a couple of photos and some information to it. A very
interesting read!
- Las Vegas Movie List
- I wasn't sure if this should be filed under movies or places, but here it
is. A comprehensive listing of all the movies and TV shows shot or set in
Las Vegas.
Disneyland Links
- Disneyland - The official website
of the Happiest Place on Earth.
- Mouse Planet - Home of the
The Disneyland Information Guide which has more information than anyone
ever wanted about the day to day operations of Disneyland.
- The Disneyland
Source - If you miss the place, they've got a lot of sounds and videos
from around the park.
- Yesterland - This is the best
Disneyland nostalgia page ever. It contains information on many defunct
Disneyland attractions. Very fun!
