ell business seems to have been pouring in this month, and as a result I haven't had as much time to dedicate to watching movies, so I've downgraded my Netflix account back to the 3 movie service. But I think the extra money I spent during the one month of 8 movie service was well worth the 100% higher price tag, as I had 30 movies shipped in that period (not all of which have actually arrived yet), as compared to 11 movies the previous (3 movie service) month. So basically I got 3 times the movies for only twice the cost.
I've also added a laser printer into my home office... I now have a laser printer (black and white) and a color injet printer both hooked up and any computer on my network can print to them... it's like a real honest to goodness office in here. Other than that stuff, I really haven't got much to report on, as nothing really interesting has been going on around here...

he WPBA Spring Classic returned to Viejas Casino this week, and I dropped by today to see Jeanette play, and also I knew I'd be seeing some people I knew there so I wanted to say hi and stuff. Dave (MrCynical from the board) came down. We saw some great (and also not-so-great) 9-ball action, and then ate at the buffet afterwards. Somewhere along the way we also ended up driving a ways to find a Wells Fargo ATM because I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $4 to get my money out of an ATM at a casino! I'll probably be heading back tomorrow evening... since I pretty much took the day off working today I gotta make up for it tomorrow, you know?

lthough I am writing this update on Monday, I'm including it on the previous week's page because everything in it is pertaining to things that happened over the weekend. OK. So Saturday during the day I worked at home. Jeanette was playing a match at 1:30pm, but I couldn't go to that one because I had to work, but according to the schedule, whether she won or lost that match, she'd still be playing at 6pm, so I decided to head out then.
As it turned out, she lost to Vivian Villareal in their match that day and so when I arrived for the 6pm match, Jeanette was in the loser's bracket. She couldn't lose another match or she'd be out of the tournament. She ended up defeating Melissa Little 8-3, with both players making some bad shots. Immediately following that match, she also defeated Gerda Hoffstatter. Meanwhile, Karen Corr and Allison Fisher (the #1 and #2 ranked players in the world right now) were battling it out... Karen went ahead immediatly 4-0, but Allison battled back quite impressively, though she ended up losing the match. In her final match of the night, Jeanette defeated Sarah Ellerby, a new player from England who is pretty darned cute if I do say so myself. In the middle of this match they ended up switching tables... some problem getting the balls to rack properly or something. By the end of that match though, they were both really tired as it was 11:30pm and there were virtually no breaks in the action. Hell I was tired just watching... and I was also tired of the music loop that seemed to only last about an hour or so before repeating... But anyway, winning those 3 matches meant Jeanette would be going on to play in at least one of the televised matches the next day.
Around 1pm the first ESPN match starts between Jeanette Lee and her good friend Helena Thornfeldt. Basically at this point in the tournament, four remaining players in the tournament were the #1, #2, #3, and #4 ranked players in the world. Jeanette ends up beating Helena and went on to play Allison Fisher in the semifinals. This was an incredble match to watch as they were racing to 7 (first person to win 7 games wins), and it went something like 1-0; 1-1; 2-1; 2-2; 3-2; 3-3; 3-4; 4-4; 4-5; 5-5; 6-5; 7-5. Pretty darned exciting. If you are able to catch this one on TV (whenever it gets shown) I'd recommend watching it. But yeah, Jeanette beat Allison as well, and ended up losing to Karen Corr in the final match of the tournament.
Afterwards a few players went to a restaurant to celebrate Helena's birthday and I ended up tagging along. I don't remember the name of the place, but all I can say is that I can't believe a restaurant of that quality is in the middle of Alpine. Anyway. From there I drove to the San Diego Airport to pick up Cami and Jeff. This was the first time I'd ever been to any airport since September 11th. Hmmm, those army guys with their M-16's... hmmm. Yeah. Ok.
Anyway. Long weekend it was, but an enjoyable and interesting one. A San Diegan -- Hydred Makabali -- became the first woman ever to compete in a WPBA pro tour event in a wheelchair. Not only is she a great pool player, she's also quite a hottie. Some time this weekend I think Jeanette said something about being sorry about not being able to hang out much this year, but I'd rather have her keep winning. The only reason why we even got to hang out much last year at all was because she was elimited from the tournament so soon. I didn't get many good pics from the tournament this year, and a lot of that had to do with the fact that I was really watching the pool instead of conentrating on taking photos. But I'm about 90% sure I'll be heading out ot Vegas next month for the BCA tournament. Maybe I'll get more pics then? Or maybe even less, who knows haha.
