Jenny mentioned in her update something about sitting down and remembering 10 things that make you feel like it's great to be alive. If you couldn't already tell, I'm a guy that is pretty content with his life, and I think for being only 25 years old, I've already got a fuller range of experiences under my belt than most people ever do in their entire lifetime. Once, I had a university professor who lived in a big mansion on a huge estate. She threw a party for all of her students, and I went. This party had valet parking and once you got inside it had live entertainment including a belly dancer. I stood by and watched as Peter Fonda pumped a keg full of beer so everyone around could have some to drink. Later on that night, the party degenerated into a wild naked pool party with probably around 100 naked college students running around. This isn't some wacky dream I had, this actually happened to me. I've been on TRL at an MTV Beach House. I've been on ESPN because of a certain woman who has been in Maxim Magazine, and recently on Letterman, that has actually ridden in my car on several occasions. Speaking of Maxim Magazine, I've had a photo that I took get published in that magazine, and speaking of being published, I've been a professional writer for a nationally distrubuted magazine. I've started a website that has received millions of hits. It still does get millions of hits even though I haven't updated it in 2 years. I've survived working at a dot-com that went under. I went to college. I've been to a few foreign countries. I've been comped thousands of dollars worth of stuff in Vegas. I've done a lot of things, and mainly, I've always done what I wanted to do. And I guess that's what helps keep my life bright. Sure, things aren't always bright and shiny for me, but when it comes down to it, I've been very lucky in this life, and have very, very, very little to complain about, and it seems like even more opportunities just keep presenting themselves to me. Life is good to me, and I can only thank God for such blessings. And now on to something completely different. I've noticed over the years that often times, the people who complain the most about other people being closed-minded, are often among the most closed minded people out there. And now on to something else completely different. Why do people buy DVD's to movies they have never seen before? And an even more mindboggling question -- why do they complain about it afterwards? I don't know about you, but I only think it's worth it to own a movie if I know I will watch it over and over. It's not enough to just enjoy a movie. It's gotta have repeat viewing appeal for me before I'll consider buying it. I've seen guys with huge DVD collectoins where many of the DVD's have never even been opened. I'm not impressed with the size of these guys' collections, especially if they are mostly comprised of movies that have only been seen a total of one or fewer times. But hey, maybe that's just me. And speaking of DVD's, there's some new reviews in my DVD Review. Thursday, 10 October 2002
I gotta say, dealing craps is super, dooper fun. I won't be able to deal roulette for a while because I don't have enough different colored chips for more than like... 3 players, and it's a little cramped for blackjack, but the craps is definitely, definitely fun to play.
