That's a picture of what I look like today. Right now. This minute. Well, the minute that I wrote this, anyway.
So, a few weeks ago, the cast of True West got me a $35 gift certificate from Tower Records as a gift for all my hard work.
Well I finally used it today, and one of the things I got with it is the Millenium Hip-Hop Party (as seen on TV). It's one one where in the commercial this black guy with a boom box walks up to this bus stop, where this dorky white guy is sitting. He plays his music and by the end of the commercial, the dorky white guy is doing this hokey dance.
Anyway, this CD has a bunch of songs from the late 80's/early 90's.
When I was a kid, I used to wonder why my dad always listened to these old ass songs. I mean, I was like "these songs are old, they suck, why are you listening to them"?
Now I am beginning to understand.
Some of these songs feel like they came out yesterday to me... then I look at the date and it's like 1989. 1989!?!? that's like ten years ago!!
Geez, I'm getting old.
Kids in high school today probably haven't heard most of these songs. Yet they have the power to take me back. I listen to these songs and I am instantly transported back to jr. high school. I feel like I'm really there. I'm set adrift on memory bliss. Damn that was cheesy.
Okay. So the update on what's been going on. My birthday passed. My sister got me the coolest gift, it is a Luke Skywalker light saber-shaped universal remote control. It makes sounds and everything. Now every time I want to change the channel, I can just reach out with the Force.
True West closed on July 18th, and man, I am so glad that I actually have some free time now. Yup, I'm still working at CAPE. It pays the bills man.
I got a digital camera, it's a really cheap, crappy one that takes sucky pictures, but what do you expect for $150? The next more expensive one was $300, and all I wanted to do was get one to fart around with, and I wasn't going to spend $300 to just fart around!!
Anyway, it is still fun to play with, and as it turns out, it works as a live web cam too, as long as I keep it plugged in.
Yes, I'm very happy today. Really happy.
