Well, so far this week has been coming out more interesting than most, however, still not particularly interesting. Of course, I skipped last week's update. Sorry. Really, I am. Actually, updating this system was too time consuming to write an update. Or something like that.
Monday
Monday. Monday I went to traffic school. What fun that was. Actually, it was sort of fun. My instructor was a San Diego Police Dept. officer who has been in the service for a long time, and is still in the service. He had many stories to tell, and gave very detailed accounts about exactly how he goes about pulling someone over for speeding.
The time was more spent asking him detailed questions about different scenarios than it was about him just telling us not to speed and other things. I found out a lot about exactly what is legal and what is not legal (all those little questions that you've always wondered about)... it was very informative.
Like did you know that you should never wave a pedestrian across the street? It's not wrong, legally, but there have been many civil suits going on, where people will sue other people. Because by waving the pedestrian over, you are taking responsibility for the pedestrian's safety because you are telling him that it is safe to cross the street- and if he gets hit by another car, even if it is not legally your fault, you can still be held responsible because you were telling him that it was safe to cross by waving him over. Didn't know that, now did you??
Anyways. That evening, I drove up to LA. I got my speeding ticket in LA, so i had to take the proof of completion there too. So I figured, hey, I might as well deliver it in person so that I can see my parents and stuff.
And whaddya know... I actually saw my family for once. Amazing? Of course it is, if you are me.
Tuesday
So Tuesday, I wake up. I take my slip to court. And I eat a home cooked lunch. Havn't had a home cooked meal since June, which is strange, since I've been home several times since then. Even on my birthday I was forced to eat out. :(
Anyways, I had set up a meeting with Debbie who is still in high school to go somewhere after school. So I picked her up. She had finally gotten her Disneyland Annual Passport, so we decided to go there, since I wanted to renew mine anyways. So we went. We only rode on two rides (Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean)... the line for splash mountain was only 5 minutes, because that's how long it took to go through the whole queue area.
After I took her home, I drove back down to San Diego. And that was Tuesday.
Wednesday
Wednesday. Hmmm. Midterm in CSE 20. Pretty much the only thing interesting that happened during the day. Well, that and the fact that it just really hit me that my Humanities paper is due in one week!! What ever will I do?
Wednesday night, however, there was the UCSD Gospel Choir Concernt. We were at RIMAC Arena, on the UCSD campus, for those of you who know where that is. It is a very large gym. We're a very large choir. We have a Christmas CD out called The Gift, which is available at any San Diego area Hallmark store.
Kenny Smith led the choir into one song... he has an incredible voice. You can hear him on our CD as well.
That's about it for wednesday.
Thursday
Wow. Today is Thursday, the day with no classes! Yeah!! I should really be studying for my physics quiz tomorrow, but for some reason I am here doing this, listening to Metallica's album, Master of Puppets, one of their older albums, and one of there best, in my opinion. Unfortunately they have strayed away from being the great speed metal band that they once were and have now sold out and turned alternative. How sad. But their old stuff is still great, so I will still listen to it. Actually, I havn't brought this album out in quite a while...
Today I went to McDonalds at the Costa Verde center and I saw something very disturbing in the parking lot- you know those metal crossbars that they have so that cars that are too tall don't try to drive into the garage? Well I saw an Office Depot delivery truck hit one of those poles, and it came swinging down on to a woman!! This ain't no bar either-- we're talking about STEEL... about 8 inches thick!!!
Then I came home. And here I am. Not studying.
Friday
Do I ever do anything on Fridays but fail my physics quizzes? Nope. Not really.
Strangely enough, the movie theater right by my apartment that never gets the movies that people want got Star Trek: First Contact. I was wondering why there were so many people standing in line just as I had woken up.
Saturday
Saturday. Wake up late day. Wake up really late day. Hmmm. Me and Ken pretty much wasted the entire day away. Kinda sad, since the weather was so very nice.
Didn't do nothin' all day. Wow. What a surprise. I think I should clean my room. Yeah.
Sunday
After weeks upon weeks of slacking off, I re-started my training for the Los Angeles Marathon, just in time to work on my 16 week program. Or was it 10 weeks? I can't remember... all these numbers. I never was too good at math, ya know??
And that's about the only exciting thing that happened today. Oh well. So far anyways...
