Once again, it's been a while since I've updated this...
Monday
The end of a long weekend. A boring long weekend. So boring that all I did was play Warcraft and Duke Nukem with Ali all weekend. Sunday I had a reverse day... went to sleep at 9am, woke up at 5pm. When I woke up the sun was going down. Strange feeling.
Still feeling the effects of the reverse day.
Cami came back with plum colored hair. Interesting.
Wednesday
Everybody went to see Beck at RIMAC. I don't think he's all that great. But it's a matter of opinion.
Also, on saturday my catalytic convertors on my car died. I mean REALLY died. My car has three of them. The first one was burned out so bad that it was just completely HOLLOW. Scary, huh? I took it in today to get work done on it. Like 2 new cats (i replaced the first 2 little ones with one big one).
Thursday
Heidi and then Cindy invited me last night to go to I.V.C.F. so I did. It was this thing about race relations. And just when I thought IV was the non-racial Christian fellowship. Maybe it was just a bad week for me to go. I don't know. But at least they promote Christianity as being the only important race. I mean, no dividing just by color... one unit.
Of course, that doesn't mean ignore your roots. That's not what I'm talking about. But I think in churches racial lines just aren't necessary. I mean, Korean churches were formed because Koreans were looking for a Korean speaking church because they can't speak english, so having a Korean church makes sense but I don't understand why fellowships for english speaking people need to be defined by race. Korean-American Christians don't need more unity. There is a stereotype that every korean knows every other one, and though it's not completely true, there is a reason for the existance of that or any other stereotype... stereotypes exist because the majority of the visible representatives of a group fit or define that stereotype. And it is true, koreans tend to band together already.
That's why I think having a K___ or a AA___ Christian organization doesn't create unity among Korean or Asian americans... only division in the church as a whole. And though leaders of Christian and Non-Christian groups claim that they welcome people of other races by policy, just the name itself makes people not of that race feel uncomfortable. And if not that, the people there do. And that's why you don't see many non asians at KASA or KACF or KCM or AACF or UTA or Chinese Culture Club or VSA or any other one of these christian or non christian organizations even though they all 'welcome' people of other races.
Well, enough of this.
Friday
Today is Friday. I got my car back. It idles SMOOTH. It sounds a little different but it runs much better. I figure it's the different catalytic convertor configuration that makes it sound funny.
Today is also the day of the Revelle Semi-Formal Dance. It's being held at the Grant Hotel downtown. Should be pretty cool.
Hmm. I'm kinda hungry. I think I'll go eat now...
Ok, Semiformal came and went and stuff. It was pretty fun. I went with Bonny. Then some stuff happened or something. It was fun.
Saturday
Micah, Ali and Cami spent the night at my place. Ali brought his computer so we could play Duke Nukem and Warcraft but he fell asleep before his turn came up. Or something. When we woke up Cami was making something to eat. Me and Ken and Cami ate. The other two were still sleeping. Me and Cami went to get new memory chips for Heidi's computer. Then we ate.
Sunday
Mom called at 8am. She wanted me to wake up for church. I didn't go. She knows. I didn't lie to her or nothing.
Kenny is working hard on his paper due tomorrow. That's about it. I think. Oh yeah, Wendy from back home is using me as a last-minute date for her friend Annie. I'm always a last minute date. It sucks.
