California's State Route 56 is a highway that though started in the 80's, has yet to be completed. It is supposed connect I-5 with I-15, easing traffic for both, as well as along Miramar Road and Mira Mesa Blvd. The eastern end was completed in 1993 and the western end was completed in 1994, but there is still a 4 mile gap in between.

Construction has continually been delayed due to a string of lawsuits and political fiascos, and tax dollars continue to be wasted as these issues have yet to be resolved.

Rather than wait for this thing to be completed, we decided it was time for us to get some use out of our tax dollars that were poured into this freeway.
